UHY LLP, Certified Public Accountants is Hiring an Accounts Payable Analyst Near Southfield, MI
A great UHY client is seeking a Accounts Payable Analyst to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Accounting or Finance, have an understanding of Accounting/General Ledger Accounts, and strong Excel experience.
The Accounts Payable Analyst role is a hybrid position being in office 3 days a week (Mon, Tues, Wed). This is a client direct hire position.
Accounts Payable Analyst Responsibilities:
- Assist with inputting invoices into Accounts Payable system, Yardi.
- Match invoices and supporting documentation for checks, as needed.
- Payment to vendors by scheduling and preparing checks, and issuance of checks.
- Deliver checks to authorized signers for their review and signature.
- Preparation of checks in envelopes to be distributed via mail or via FedEx.
- Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting AP account transactions.
- Maintains historical records by scanning and filing documents.
- Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.
- Communicate with third party vendors and internal departments regarding payments.
- Obtain, sort, and organize invoices received in the mail.
- Assist with monthly accounting tasks.
- Assist with treasury functions, such as ACH and wire initiation, transfers, and stop payments.
- Assist with voiding and reissuing checks
- Assist with monthly investor distributions and serve as the back up to processing distributions, as needed.
- Assist with front desk/receptionist duties, as needed.
- Other ad hoc tasks, as required or assigned.
Accounts Payable Analyst Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Business, Accounting, Finance, or relevant degree
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Proficiency in Microsoft: Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Must be detail oriented
