Skill Struck is Hiring a Remote Product Manager (Remote)

Skill Struck empowers educators and schools by offering computer science education at every grade level. We make coding engaging and accessible to all student demographics, especially under-represented groups in tech. We are known, not only for our computer science curriculum but also for our focus on equity in education.
Our mission is to inspire creators, grow problem solvers, and strengthen communities.
Skill Struck is creating a new role for a Product Manager to be a liaison between several departments as we scale our K-12 products. Your role will be pivotal as we discern the product needs and upcoming roadmaps. You will communicate product vision and updates across the organization, ensuring alignment in communication with school districts. You will help the product teams spend time on the projects and tasks that have the most impact for the administrators, educators, and students we work with. 
This individual will report directly to the CTO, and work closely with the rest of the company leadership. The Product Designer will report directly to you.
You must reside in one of the following states: UT, CA, WA, FL, TX, GA, NC, IL, IN, WI, VA.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the process of gathering feedback from customers, prospects, and team members
  • Alongside company leaders, you will help discern the product roadmap based on feedback from everyone and insights from other department. When adjustments are needed with product plans, you will work with product leaders to reassign priorities for realistic sprint and quarterly expectations.
  • Find the balance between time and efficiency as we make decisions and improve the product
  • Assist product leaders in sprint planning and help hold teams accountable
  • Communicate updates and assist with documentation for new product releases, which will empower our customer-facing teams
  • Conduct product trainings to fill internal knowledge gaps
Qualifications
  • Experience in product or project management
  • Experience in education is also encouraged
  • Obsessed with the needs of customers and helping provide value for them
  • Able to operate in a highly efficient manner by multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Managed and owned projects or initiatives
  • Above average technical skills; like learning new software and techniques
  • Conveys complicated information in written and verbal communication that is simple, clear, concise, professional, and friendly.

Accessibility:
This position mostly comprises computer work. The candidate must be able to sit for long periods of time, use a keyboard and mouse, and work at a desk for extended periods of time. Though on rare occurrences it may happen, the candidate may also need to lift up to 25 pounds. Some travel may be required, by car and/or plane, which may result in lifting more weight where applicable. Skill Struck will make reasonable accommodations for employees upon request.
