Sterling Engineering is Hiring an Electrical Engineer Near Sparks, MD
This role demands expertise in electrical infrastructure, SCADA, protective relaying, controls, and a deep understanding of national codes, including NEC and NESC.
- Review electrical designs throughout project development, design, and construction phases, conduct advanced electrical modeling, and review equipment test reports and shop drawings.
- Broader technical knowledge in Low Voltage, Arc Flash, Energy Conservation, Mechanical, and Fire Protection engineering is a plus.
- Provide priorities of work, feedback on initiatives, and establish new focus areas to drive continuous improvement, supporting engineering teams.
- Experience in PV and BESS projects is a plus.
- Experience with Interconnection requirements and corresponding studies.
- Must have expertise in electrical infrastructure, SCADA, protective relaying, and controls.
- Strong understanding of national codes, including NEC and NESC.
- Infrequent travel to project sites to gather/document existing conditions and execute construction phase punch outs.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineering team members. ? Innovative thinking and a collaborative mindset
- Minimum of 5 - 7 years of professional experience. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred.
- Familiarity with power generation, plant design, environmental compliance and multi-discipline industrial projects.
- Experience working on decarbonization design efforts through state-of-the-art technologies in renewable energy, carbon capture, and hydrogen power.
