Position Summary:Spencer East Brookfield Regional School District wants to add a dynamic, qualified school psychologist to our Special Education Team. We invite you to join our supported special education team as we prepare our students for life, learning, and citizenship.This position is for a full-time school psychologist whose role will include conducting evaluations for students both out-of-district placements and assignments to schools within the district based on student needs. Job DescriptionResponsibilities of the School Psychologist: ● Massachusetts DESE licensure as a School Psychologist ● Participate as a member of school screening and school-based Student Assistant-type teams and maintain all relevant documentation; ● Conduct psycho-educational screenings and assessments for referred students; ● Interpret psycho-educational evaluation findings and communicate recommendations at Team meetings; ● Assist in conducting preschool screening and/or evaluations on request of the Director of Student Services;● Consult and collaborate with parents, school staff, and outside personnel regarding mental health, behavior and educational concerns, including prevention-oriented approaches and implementation of the District Curriculum Accommodation Plan; ● Serve as a resource to school personnel regarding evaluation instruments, and techniques; ● Participate in behavioral intervention planning, including functional behavioral assessments, behavioral intervention plans, and manifestation determinations as required by IDEA ; ● Assist in monitoring, evaluation, and transition planning for students in and out of District and District-wide programs upon the direction of the Director of Student Services● Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of psychology and education, and participate in training offered by the District; ● Perform any other related task or duty at the direction of the Principal, Director of Student Services.
