Job Description Our client is looking for a Test Engineer to specifically support all HP's PCs (notebooks, laptops, accessories) for internal and external customers. You will be working through issue validation and issue replication. You will act as a Tier 2 level support, this call would of already spoke to a Tier 1 and needed to escalate to you. You will be on the phone working through basic troubleshooting and if it is still an issue, you will have the PC sent to you for further testing. You will have a Tier 3 support to escalate after you get the PC and still can't troubleshoot it and are having issues. Some of the issues would be around software or hardware, usually it is around 50% hardware, 50% software and you will see around 15 tickets a month and that is heavy.
Responsibilities: Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices. Provides test area with parameters for sample testing and specifies tests to be performed. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements. Responsible for testing all customers samples and for special tests that cannot be performed in the test area. Responsible for designing, developing and implementing cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment. Intermediate: Ability to apply intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems/projects of moderately complex scope. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations. Typically a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2-4 years related experience or Master's degree and up to two years experience. Computerized electronic test equipment.
