Richardson Manufacturing Company is Hiring a Production employee Near Springfield, IL

Summary / Objective

The Production Employee Administrator is responsible assisting the CNC Department Supervisor in meeting daily production objectives.

Night Shift Schedule : Monday - Thursday 7 : 30 p.m. - 6 : 00 a.m.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as a role model to department employees by being punctual, working until the completion of the shift, and exhibiting the values of the Company.
  • Work with the Requirements Manager to ensure set-ups are full-kitted and staged in accordance with the production schedule.
  • Track all production jobs to know when each job is half-way to completion.
  • Ensure the department is staying ahead of production on each machine.
  • Lead the Supply Team and ensure the Change Over Procedure is being followed so production work centers are not idle and waiting on required work center supplies (tooling, gauging, rough material, fixtures, etc.).
  • Daily review efficiency and indirect labor reports and communicate the results to the department supervisor and / or employees as directed.
  • At the beginning of the shift, assist the department supervisor with department walk-around to address employee safety, quality, productivity, training, 5S, Plex, and maintenance concerns.
  • Assist the department supervisor in investigating and documenting incident and accident reports.
  • Ensure On-The-Job Training documentation is completed and submitted to Human Resources.
  • At the supervisor's direction, generate and provide warning documents to HR for approval.
  • Provide the department supervisor Time Off Reports on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Provide the department supervisor Employee Suggestion and Problem Log Reports on a weekly basis.
  • Provide support in the Tool Crib and Gauge Lab as needed.
  • Account for inventory as needed.
  • Monthly complete Safety Glasses Audit and communicate results to the Department Supervisor and HR.
  • Drive a fort truck to carry out the Supply Team job functions.

Communication

  • Maintain effective interface with department supervisors and other departments (i.e., Engineering, Quality, Tool Room, Maintenance, Shipping / Receiving) to optimize production and process improvement activity.
  • Communicate directly with CNC Department Supervisors, Operations Manager and Human Resources on all employee issues.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and actively participate by providing meaningful input.
  • Communicate quality and efficiency information to all relevant organizational departments and management.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating standard operating procedures or other manuals.
  • Advises Department Supervisor of any production rate issues and other department concerns to ensure thorough and effective department operation.

Other Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in the 5S program, which is to Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain in order to maintain a highly productive work environment.
  • Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
  • Maintain a safe environment and address safety concerns according to current RMC policy and OSHA standards.
  • Work to continuously improve in all areas such as safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Competencies

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of production scheduling and shop procedures
  • Familiarity with production / manufacturing methods and process improvements (e.g., 5S or Lean Manufacturing).
  • Self-starter; can work with low supervision.
  • Must be able to manage time and delegate tasks effectively.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Leadership ability
  • Customer service / Interpersonal skills -highly visible employee who interacts with various organizational levels.
  • Basic English Language skills.

Education / Experience

  • Associate's degree from an accredited institution. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3 years of relevant work experience.
