TBG | The Bachrach Group is Hiring a Fund Accountant (VP) Near Stamford, CT

Our client is a large asset management firm. You will be responsible to lead a small team for the closed-end fund business supporting business development companies and debt strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Monthly closing process for the portfolios includes pricing, reconciling portfolio data, calculating management fees/expenses.
  • Quarterly and annual financial statements including SEC filings for the BDCs.
  • Manage and enhance all aspects of the private deal life cycle, including initial deal funding, ongoing maintenance, and exit.
  • Accounting and operations of asset transfers between funds and SPVs.
  • Oversee cash management including resolution of cash breaks.
  • Compliance with key financial reporting controls including compliance with the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Provide technical guidance and implementation of new accounting pronouncements.
  • Reviewing performance calculations and fund information within the strategy
  • Manage the delivery of projects and continuous process improvements

Requirements

  • 12 years accounting experience within the private credit industry (BDC experience a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of fund launches and complex structures.
  • Strong knowledge of reconciliation and account analysis.
  • Strong project knowledge and able to, design, implement and execute on projects.
  • Excellent understanding of accounting and the ability to apply relevant investment company accounting rules.
  • Solid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Experience with Geneva and/or Geneva World Investor, accounting systems and Markit WSO (notice portal) is a plus
