40-year-old landscape design and build company based in the Northern Virginia / Washington D.C. Beltway is looking for a Landscape Designer to join their team. This position offers fantastic growth and advancement opportunities, a fun culture, and rewarding work.
Responsibilities:

  • Play an active role in the design process from concept through construction.
  • Collaborate with clients through material selections and project execution.
  • Prepare design graphics, technical drawings, and presentation-quality graphics and illustrations.
  • Prepare take offs and project bids.

Requirements (ideal Candidate)

  • 5-years experience as a Landscape Designer or Architect.
  • BS in Landscape Architecture prefered.
  • Locally positioned with ability to report to office in Sterling, VA and service client base in Fairfax, VA, Loudoun, VA, and Montgomery County, MD. Work from home flexible if needed.
  • Background in landscape design and sales. 
  • Ability to work with client needs and expectations, to include meeting on evenings and weekends, when requested.
  • Able to render plans in a timely manner. 3D capability would be a huge asset.
  • Has existing client base for references and potential new work.
  • Able to price proposals based on designs rendered.
  • Able to understand and work through production challenges.
  • Able to work with vendors on materials required to build associated designs.
  • Has a clear aesthetic that compliments company's work.
  • Able to work as a team player.
  • Must have a strong understanding of site design, grading principles and drainage concepts, construction methods, materials, and details.
  • Experience with a design / build firm with previous residential design and estimating preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Photoshop, and/or InDesign.
  • Knowledge of planting design incorporating regional planting materials preferred.
