Steuben County, New York is currently recruiting candidates for the temporary positions of
Emergency Medical Technician (PT)
These temporary positions are located at the Steuben County Department of Emergency Management.
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is a New York State certified emergency responder capable of effectively delivering basic emergency care and treatment in varied, sometimes physically demanding situations to those who are sick or injured. The EMT makes definitive patient care decisions under stressful situations, as well as effectively directing, or working with, others at the emergency scene. Work is performed in the office and in the field. The work is performed under the clinical supervision of the assigned supervisor. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and possession of a currently valid certification from the New York State Department of Health as an Emergency Medical Technician-Basic or higher.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
· Possession of appropriate-level NYS Driver License is required at time of appointment and must be maintained on a continuous basis throughout the term of appointment.
· Emergency Medical Technician certification must be maintained on a continuous basis throughout the term of appointment.
· Possession of valid American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR certification
SALARY/BENEFITS
$18.03 - $22.34/hour - Depending on Experience
