Our lab has a collaborative environment, as we work together to save lives and better the outcomes of our patients. Stillwater Medical's Heart and Vascular Institute was built in 2019 to meet the needs of our growing community. We have two labs, a procedure room, and an eight bed pre/post area. Here are the details:

Full-time position. The lab is open M - F from 0700 - 1530.
Call for cardiac emergencies is an important way we serve our community. This position takes call 10 - 12 shifts per month.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of a licensed cardiologist, provides technical support and assistance to the physician diagnosing and treating cardiac and peripheral disease, and cardiac arrythmias in the cath lab. Including but not limited to diagnostic and interventional angiography procedures, pacemaker/ICD implantation, electrophysiology procedures, and other interventional cardiac/vascular procedures. Provides patient care, operates equipment, performs scrub, circulator and hemodynamic monitoring duties during procedures using clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment in accordance with professional and departmental standards and protocols. Must have a strong work ethic and ability to multitask in a high-stress environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Graduate of an accredited Radiographic Program or
Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular program.

Experience:

One (1) year of experience in the Cardiac Cath Lab or
Two (2) years of experience as a radiologic technologist preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registrations Required (at least one of the following):

Registered as a Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT)
Registration from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (RCIS)
Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)

Other:

Must be able to take and respond to call within 30 minutes.
Current CPR card or completion of course within 30 days of hire.
Current ACLS certification within one year of employment.
Advanced ECG interpretation skills required.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Knowledge of anatomy and radiation exposure required.
Proficiency in radiation safety practices required.
Core customer service skills required.
Strong computer skills required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to work in latex burdened environment
Must have strength and stamina for prolonged walking and standing
Able to frequently lift up to 60 pounds, reach, pull, bend, stoop, and kneel
Demonstrates adequate vision or correctable glass to read, write, and evaluate medical images
Able to hear or correctable with hearing devices and able to talk to converse with others in person and over the telephone
Able to hear, see and feel to accurately observe, monitor, and administer care
Possess fine motor skills and hand/eye coordination to give care.
