Roessel Joy is Hiring a Staff Accountant Near Stoughton, MA

A construction company is seeking to hire a Staff Accountant. In this seat, you will be responsible for overseeing the General Ledger, performing forecasting and job costing, and handling bank reconciliations and month-end close. The ideal candidate has a construction and/or manufacturing background, has 3 years of accounting experience, and is proficient in Excel. 

Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile bank accounts and prepare related adjusting journal entries.
  • Prepare general ledger account analysis for month-end reporting.
  • Assist with preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
  • Prepare budget analysis reports for management and program departments.
  • Assist with processing cash receipts and reconciling reports from Fiscal and Development systems.
  • Assist with preparing schedules, analyses, and documents for timely completion of government and independent audits.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with Program to review receivables and expenditures related to contracts/grants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting 
  • Interpersonal skills to deal with program managers, auditors, and others as required.
  • Analytical and communication skills to evaluate budgets and communicate problems and solutions
  • Previous experience working with bank reconciliation, budgets and other items listed above
  • Construction or manufacturing industry experience 
  • Computer skills in Excel and Word
