Radiance Technologies, an employee-owned company at the National Maritime Intelligence Center (NMIC) in Suitland, MD, is hiring a Data Engineer. Job Duties: Research data acquisition opportunities, frame analytical questions, and collaborate with government POCs to identify trends and opportunities. Design, construct, install, test, and maintain scalable data management systems, recommending improvements for data reliability, efficiency, and quality. Integrate new data management technologies and software tools, including cloud-based processing and storage. Collaborate with ONI Information Technology Enterprise and CIO on disaster recovery procedures for GEOINT data. Develop data set processes for modeling, mining, production, and proof of concept initiatives. Use scripting languages to create integrated systems for data management, accessibility, and warehousing. Contribute to designing new product features based on customer needs and design trade-offs. Accompany ONI personnel to GEOINT-related conferences and travel to naval and joint service commands, trade shows, and conferences. Required Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in IE Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Geographic Information Systems, Engineering, Physical Science, or a relevant technical field. Required Skills: Active TS/SCI security clearance. Desired Qualifications: 3 years practical work experience with data technologies: Spark, Scala, Hive, and/or Hadoop. 3 years practical work experience developing scripts, APIs, and/or programs: C , Java, Shell, Perl, and/or Python. 1 year work experience with geospatial or imagery data. 3 years practical work experience building data pipelines and/or stream processing. 2 years writing technical analysis reports.
