The University of Miami UHealth System is currently seeking a Sr. Clinical Dietitian to work at Sylvester Cancer Center (SCCC) in Miami. The incumbent provides nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy to patients in order to further their medical and personal goals. This position also provides leadership and oversight to less experienced staff and acts as a resource of knowledge regarding patient nutrition. CORE JOB FUNCTIONS 1. Meets directly with patients to identify nutritional needs. 2. Identifies ways to improve the care of patients and makes recommendations to appropriate staff. 3. Performs research and recommends ways to expand and improve nutrition programs. 4. Evaluates the effects of meal plans and revises the plans when appropriate. 5. Plans menus and inspects food to ensure portions adhere to set restrictions and dietary standards. 6. Assesses patients’ nutritional status and develops individualized nutritional plans. 7. Relays appropriate information regarding patient care to the collaborating physician. 8. Assists in managing family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patients’ care. 9. Triages patients to determine the urgency of physician evaluation. Documents and reports care in an accurate and timely fashion. 10. Collaborates with the development of educational materials. 11. Identifies and accounts for specific ethnic, cultural, and religious needs. 12. Responds to, resolves, and follows up regarding patient inquiries or concerns. 13.
