Job Description : We are seeking a meticulous Construction Inspection Specialist to ensure the quality and compliance of our construction projects with building codes, specifications, and safety standards.
In this role, you will conduct daily inspections across various disciplines such as structural steel, concrete, masonry, and fireproofing.
Your keen eye for detail and expertise in interpreting construction drawings and specifications will be instrumental in preparing detailed inspection reports and collaborating with project managers to address any potential issues.
Job Responsibilities : Perform daily inspections of construction projects, monitoring quality and compliance with building codes and specifications.
Conduct visual / physical inspections and field testing to verify conformance with plans and specifications. Prepare comprehensive inspection reports documenting observations and testing results.
Communicate findings to project managers and collaborate on solutions to potential issues. Interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.
Assist senior inspectors as needed and ensure proper maintenance of equipment. Follow safety rules and practices, conducting pre-task planning, and reporting any safety concerns to management.
Uphold quality standards on all projects.Qualifications : High school diploma or equivalent. Preferably, an Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Engineering Technician or relevant field. Previous experience in construction inspection preferred.
Valid driver"s license with a satisfactory driving record.Required Certifications : Successful completion of related internal safety certifications.
ICC certification for reinforced concrete required AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) requiredCertification in one or more of the following areas preferred : NICET Level II certification in Construction Materials Testing (Asphalt, Concrete, Soils).
NICET Level II certification in Geotechnical (Construction, Laboratory, Exploration, Generalist). ICC certification (Spray-applied Fireproofing, Structural Masonry, Prestressed / Post-Tensioned Concrete, Structural Steel - Bolting, Structural Steel - Welding).
ASNT Level II certification (VT, MT, PT, RT, UT). Other relevant national, regional, state, and local materials-related certifications.
ACI certification in Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I or Concrete Strength Testing Technician. (ACI certification not required if AWS CWI, ASNT Level II, VT, MT, PT, RT, or UT certification(s) have been obtained and concrete field and laboratory testing is not required.
