  • This role can be filled as a Financial Analyst II, III, Lead, or Sr. Lead depending on knowledge, skills and abilities of the candidate.***
Job Summary/PurposeResponsible for supporting the project team and project leader in the development, analysis, and understanding of utility sales and load forecasts and forecast scenarios including annual Business Plan forecasts, IRP scenarios, and other analysis. Responsible for training and mentoring junior staff members. This position will also support multi-function groups to achieve objectives and enhance Entergy's stockholder value.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Develop, monitor, and refine forecasting models for hourly electric load (MW), monthly electricity sales (kWh), and monthly natural gas sales (CCF).
  • Develop understanding of customer behavior including drivers of electricity consumption, how those drivers could change over time, and ways to include potential effects in forecasts.
  • Develop analysis and present results to senior management and working teams, prioritizing key drivers and important messages above variances.
  • Develop forecast scenarios for Integrated Resource Plans (IRPs) or for other studies. Perform ad hoc analysis, summary analysis, trend analysis, and statistical analysis, and communicate results as needed.
  • Support regulatory requirements of RFIs, regulatory hearings, and other external information requests.
  • Develop analysis and present results to senior management and working teams, prioritizing key drivers and important messages above variances.
  • Gather market intelligence to incorporate into forecasts and analysis.
Minimum RequirementsMinimum education required of the position
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Engineering or equivalent work experience.
    • MBA preferred.
Minimum Experience Required Of The Position
  • Financial Analyst II: 2-4 years of business experience in banking, finance, project development or related fields.
  • Financial Analyst III: 4-6 years of business experience in banking, finance, project development or related fields.
  • Financial Analyst Lead: 3-5 years of business experience in banking, finance, project development or related fields.
  • Financial Analyst, Sr Lead: 4 plus years of business experience in banking, finance, project development or related fields.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required Of The Position
  • Solid analytical skills and a commitment to quality work
  • Must be inquisitive and must exhibit the ability and willingness to exercise independent judgment and initiative related to work assignments
  • Perform effectively in time-sensitive situations to meet deadlines in a timely and accurate manner
  • Effective communication skills including being able to communicate logically, clearly, and concisely, both orally and in writing across all levels of the organization including senior management
