Production Team Leader Job Description`

To Manage with the receipt and recycling of materials recovered from Construction and Demolition (C&D) Projects, homeowners and private individuals and by the recovery of C&D Waste as separated by the Recovery Team at van der Linde Recycling. This needs to be done in an efficient and productive manner. The recovered materials include wood; stumps brush and logs; woody yard and vegetative waste; concrete brick and block; soil; mattresses; and shingles.

The conversion of these recycling streams into high quality, consumer ready, materials is paramount. These materials include: alternative energy fuel, mulch, recycled concrete aggregate, topsoil, fill materials, high quality foam, and a binder for asphalt and road pavement.

Duties:

Manage all aspects of the production area while implementing a structured culture of providing AMAZING customer service in a safe environment for customers and employees;

Manage the oversight of a structured approach to preventive maintenance for vehicles and equipment assigned to the production area;

Provide oversight and training for the production and other VDL Recycling staff;

Develop and train procedures to ensure productivity and profitability while converting recycling streams into consumer products;

Maintain a clean, safe and organized work area;

Work with the Operations Manager to develop new consumer products from existing recycling streams;

Attend required meetings as required;

Assist other VDL Team members as required;

Promote a team environment while supporting VDL’s Mission and Vision;

Be teachable.

Please note that this position may require heavy lifting and physical exertion. The ability to work well independently as well as in a team setting, follow instructions accurately, schedule your team and projects, and monitor production, costs and profitability are essential.This position will work closely with and report directly to the Operations Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
