Job Description

Clinical Medical Assistant

Performs medical assistant responsibilities, encompassing clinical, technical and administrative duties which support patient care and clinical operations in a friendly, efficient, helpful manner. Responsibilities may vary daily depending on clinical schedule, physician and patient needs. Providing great customer service and experience to patients and visitors during their most vulnerable time in regards to their health.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Friendly, service oriented attitude

• Excellent customer service skills

• Proficient in typing and good spelling, punctuation, grammar and verbal communication

• Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families

• Basic understanding of medical terminology.

• Knowledge of medical office procedures and process.

• Knowledge of clinical equipment, supplies, and instruments.

• Understanding of documentation required for physician office visits.

• Knowledge of the policies and procedures of a clinic sufficient to provide effective patient care.

• Skill in computer hardware and software use; office equipment use.

• Ability to use EMR, other relevant computer hardware and software, telephone, copier, fax machine, calculator and other standard office and medical equipment.

  • Perform various treatment procedures under supervision of physician
  • Assist physician in exam rooms
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
  • Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician
  • Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
  • Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
  • Assist front office as directed.

Primary Location: Tucson, Arizona

Education Requirement:

High school diploma or equivalent minimum; Associate's degree in a medical field preferred

A certificate from an accredited Medical Assistant (MA) program is required or be willing to take the exam upon hire

2 years of working in the healthcare field

Ancillary Skills Requirement

Strong verbal and written skills

Superior customer service skills

A high level of professionalism

Reliability, superior attendance, professional work product and honesty
