This position serves as the Plant Manager for the North Carolina Correction Enterprises Janitorial Products Plant. This plant is responsible for manufacturing and supplying janitorial supplies, disinfectants, laundry detergents, soap, and other chemicals to NCDAC Prisons, schools, and other agencies across North Carolina. Responsibilities include production planning, scheduling, administration, development of plant safety programs, quality control of raw materials and finished products, EPA registrations and new product development. Individual is also responsible for communicating with customers, vendors, subordinates, and supervisors on a daily basis to place orders, take orders, adjust production/delivery schedules, negotiate price changes, and resolve problems. Extensive chemical and physical testing of both raw materials and finished products is also required on a daily basis. Knowledge of and compliance with federal, state, and local pollution control requirements, occupational health and safety requirements, hazardous material handling, permissible exposure limits and hazardous material disposal requirements is a rapidly growing responsibility of this position. This position oversees 9 plant staff and an offender workforce of 86 offenders. This position is also responsible for managing the Electronic Dishwasher Dispensing System Program. This position has direct supervision of 5 Maintenance Construction/Technician III’s (Dishwasher Technicians).
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.
The work schedule is Monday – Thursday, 6:30 am – 5:30 pm.

If selected for this position, a new salary will be recalculated taking into consideration the quantity of relevant education and experience, funding availability, and internal equity. To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
Must document prior supervisory experience.
Must document previous experience in chemical manufacturing, production management, and inventory management.
Must document experience in chemical/janitorial production and have knowledge of mixing and blending chemical products.
Must possess or be able to obtain a North Carolina Correctional Officer Certification.
