Role:

The role of the Teller position is to ensure that his/her actions and knowledge are always directed toward member service. This is particularly important, as the teller is often the person who has the most contact with Credit Union members. 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 

• 50% Receives and accurately processes financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and loan payments. Transfers amounts from member accounts as directed. and assist members with account transactions by phone and mail. 
• 40% Market the Credit Union as a superior financial institution to members internally and externally. Consistently review each member’s financial situation and current Credit Union product utilization including digital means of communication to offer solutions based on need to further develop the member’s relationship with the Credit Union. 
• 5% Accurately balances assigned cash drawer and daily transactions. 
• 5% All other job related duties as assigned. 

Performance Measurements:

1. The employee’s actions should always reflect the Credit Union’s TREAD model to teach, respect, empower, adapt, and deliver to our members and coworkers. 
2. Balance teller drawer daily, being no more than $20 out of balance on a given day, with total outage (difference between actual drawer balance and system balance) not to exceed $75 in a 6-month period. 
3. Consistently cross sell products and services to our members 
4. To have no more than two posting error per month. 
5. To participate in a positive productive working environment. 

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience

One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.

Education

A high school education or GED.

Interpersonal Skills

Friendliness, courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding routine matters for the purpose of giving or obtaining information, which may require some discussion.

Other Skills

Strong personal computer skills including data entry including knowing how to turn a computer on and off, what buttons on the mouse perform which functions. Ability to create and log into an email account and send and receive messages. Ability to use a ten key calculator by touch.

Physical Requirements 

Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is important to impart detailed or important oral information accurately and quickly to other workers and the public. Must also have the ability to perceive sounds and words through oral communication. Ability to exert up to 30 lbs. of force occasionally and lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Involves standing most of the time but may involve walking or sitting for brief periods of time.

Work Environment

Work is generally performed in a temperature-controlled office environment. Exposure to ambient office equipment noise such as computers, telephone, and conversations between coworkers and members.
