Quality Roasting Inc. is Hiring a Mill Operator Near Valders, WI

Position Summary:

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and preventive maintenance of our soybean milling equipment that produces high quality feed grade soybean meal in our Safe Feed/Safe Food Certified facility. As a self-motivated, safety-minded, reliable team member with a strong mechanical aptitude, your primary duties will include monitoring have the drive to learn and excel at monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting our milling process, testing product quality and loading/unloading bulk truckloads of soybeans and finished product. This role offers the opportunity to enhance your skills in feed processing and continually advance your strong mechanical abilities and commitment to safety and team collaboration.

Location: Valders, WI

Reports To: Mill Plant Manager

Work Schedule:

  • Days: 5:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • 12-hour shift rotation, three options available

Salary:

  • $24.00/hour
  • $1.00/hour increase after six months, with successful performance

Essential Job Functions:

  • Monitor and operator advanced milling equipment independently in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on milling machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic operational issues without direct supervision
  • Conduct detailed quality tests on soybeans and finished products to maintain product standards
  • Communicate any process problems that may occur to the fellow mill operators and participate in resolving these problems. If a problem cannot be resolved, make the necessary phone calls
  • Complete the necessary paperwork required in the record keeping of production
  • Maintain designated sanitary schedule to Quality Roasting standards
  • Load and unload bulk trucks, both tankers and hopper bottoms
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices based on our Feed Safety Programs
  • Perform other tasks, as assigned

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of milling/manufacturing experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and troubleshooting skills
  • Good verbal and written communications
  • Desire and experience working in and contributing to a strong team environment
  • Reliable team member with a strong focus on quality and safety
  • Dependable and self-motivated

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, sit, stand, walk, handle objects, reach above shoulder level, use fine finger movements and push/pull, carry/lift light to heavy loads up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally kneel
