Contractors Steel Company powered by UPG is a growing steel service center that has been in business for almost 60 years. We are hiring a Material Handler for our Van Buren, MI location. An ideal candidate will have experience with various types of specialized products and services produced by steel service centers. The Material Handler must be detail-oriented and eager to learn in our fast-paced environment. We strive to build strong relationships with our customers, providing high levels of service, value-added opportunities, and professional interactions, allowing us to become a trusted member of their supply chain and production teams.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Using a crane (wireless remote, 20 ton) to pull orders
• Locate material, measure it for accuracy, and verify that it meets requirements
• Prep for delivery to load onto trucks
• Load trucks
• Warehouse duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• High school diploma (GED) equivalent
• Crane operator experience/certification preferred
• Able to work any shift (morning/afternoon/evening)
• Must complete criminal background check and drug screen per company guidelines
