Department of Behavioral Healt is Hiring a CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST Near Washington, DC

Brief Description of Duties

The incumbent of this position serves as a Clinical Psychologist at Saint Elizabeths Hospital with the DC Department of Behavioral Health. The incumbent acts as a Unit Psychologist for Saint Elizabeths Hospital, an inpatient facility serving forensic and civil patients. Direct intervention includes individual and group therapy, milieu treatment, psychological assessment, competency restoration, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The incumbent is part of the psychology training faculty and provides clinical supervision, depending on licensure level, for pre-doctoral and/or post-doctoral psychology trainees. With sufficient training and interest, the incumbent may conduct forensic evaluations of competency, criminal responsibility, and/or risk. The incumbent also provides expert court testimony as needed. Salary Range

DS-11 $72,751 - $93,685

DS-12 $89,961 - $115,099

DS-13 $103,651 - $133,558

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT: Satisfactory completion as an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral program (Ph.D. or Psy.D) in clinical or counseling psychology and an (APA) accredited clinical internship. In addition to the basic requirements, applicants must be licensed in the District of Columbia through the D.C. Health, Health Professional Licensing Administration before the start of employment.

DS-12Licensed Psychology Associate in the District of Columbia through the D.C. Health, Health Professional Licensing Administration

DS-13 - Licensed Clinical Psychologist in the District of Columbia through the D.C. Health, Health Professional Licensing Administration and has met the required number of supervised hours to become a licensed Psychologist in the district of Columbia


EMPLOYER MAY PAY RELOCATION EXPENSES FOR A NEW APPOINTMENT.

Work Experience

Experience providing direct care of the severely mentally ill inpatient population including individual and group therapy.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a controlled environment and involves some exposure to moderate risk of accidents and requires following basic safety precautions.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES A PRE EMPLOYMENT PHYSICAL, CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK AND DRUG TEST.

Tour of Duty: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday

RESIDENCY PREFERENCE AMENDMENT ACT OF 1988
