As Welder you will join metal parts and fill seams of different components for the machines manufactured in the plant.

Education / Experience

• Journeyman certification an asset
• Proven experience as a welder
• Experience at a manufacturing facility an asset

Accountabilities

• Obtain steel and components necessary to build a project to specifications
• Assemble parts using the applicable jigs
• Read blueprints and drawings to accurately weld different components for our machines
• Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws and to remove all spatter
• Conduct preventative maintenance of welding equipment
• Mentor and guide apprentices
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

Work Conditions

• Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
• Working in manufacturing plant environment.
• Some exposure to potentially hazardous environments requiring protective equipment
• Employee may be exposed to dust, odors, fumes and high levels of noise at times
• Lifting or moving up to 50 lbs may be required
• Exposure to temperature
