Job Description
Pay Rate: $85000 to $100000 per year.

Position Purpose:
Contract Manager is primarily responsible for ensuring contractual compliance of the Operations and Maintenance contract with Nassau County, New York. Position will monitor all aspects of contract compliance including timely contractual deliverables to the client identified in the contract for all departments.
Contract Manager will also collaborate with the Corporate Legal Department and other members of management and act as a liaison with various internal and external parties. Position will recognize and propose when contract amendments and Memorandums of Understanding are necessary to help clarify ambiguous contract language.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Ensures timely deliverables and manages clear and accurate documentation
  • Reconciles monthly invoices from Client to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepares all necessary paperwork, documentation, and packages for all CME's (Capital Maintenance Events). Ensures timely submission to client and tracks status of payments.
  • Maintains Monthly reports for all the Contract Compliance and delivers additional specialized monthly reports when required. Evaluates data and performance in-line with contractual expectations and takes corrective action when required.
  • Research and reviews provisions of contracts to assist in determination of Company's rights and responsibilities.
  • Provides significant coordination of legal documents and review process relating to new provisions to SWLI existing contract.
  • Assists in contractual dispute resolution process by formulating or aiding in the formulation of contractual, statutory, and case law arguments to establish and solidify the SWLI's position with regard to a variety of legal matters.
  • Develops and maintains professional and courteous relationships with County Officials
  • Provides accurate and timely input to General Manager and other management staff as directed for all required management reporting.
  • Interfaces with department managers and staff to obtain background information on matters requiring a legal / contractual response.
  • Maintains and updates electronic and paper files.
  • Performs all the above activities in a professional manner consistent with company policies and with the collaboration of Legal Department when needed. Maintains a current and controlled library of all related documentation, reports and contracts pertaining to Contract Compliance; proactively monitors Contract deliverables to ensure Customer Service's compliance with submission requirements and deadlines.
Work Environment:
  • This position is based in an office within a wastewater treatment plant complex.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the candidate is both inside and outside with exposure to all kinds of weather conditions.
  • Candidate may be occasionally exposed to some noise, dust, fumes, smoke, gases, greases, oils, electrical energy, solvents, and vibrations.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or Paralegal Studies preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years or more of legal and/or contract compliance experience is desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent writing, organizational, and legal research skills.
  • Personal computer skills are essential, specifically, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, internet research and Lexis and/or Westlaw.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to use good business judgment.
  • Ability to deal with customers, clients, and regulators in a courteous, diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Solid interpersonal skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Presentation skills (oral and written).
