Searching for an R&D Engineer to join a growing R&D Team in Michigan in executing our product development roadmap. The individual must have the desire to learn, work effectively in cross functional teams and collaborate in a professional manner with internal and external stakeholders and resources
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesDesign robust and reliable new products for efficient manufacturability.
Create and maintain accurate & complete product designs, detail drawings and models using SolidWorks.
Maintain Project documentation and timelines.
Collaborate in the development and testing of new mechanical & electro-mechanical products.
Complete thermal and structural simulations on new product designs.
Develop test plans and fixtures for new product testing.
Conduct in-house product testing to ensure new products, design changes, and new suppliers meet high quality standards.
Support activities associated with field testing new products at customer sites.
Support activities needed to launch new products.
Provide post-launch support as needed.
Create and issue reports.
PROFILE
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
1-5 years engineering experience (with prior Hotrunner experience being a plus)
Proficient in creating 3D Part/Assembly Models and 2D detail drawings using SolidWorks
Experience setting up & running thermal and structural FEAs using ANSYS and/or Solidworks Simulation.
Able to work with a sense of urgency on multiple projects concurrently in a collaborative environment with the dedication to meet scheduled deadlines.
Possess strong organizational skills and be detail oriented.
Working knowledge of tools, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, current meters and datalogger devices.
Experience using Moldex3D or Moldflow is a plus.
~5% travel may be required.
