ARCH is Hiring a Quality Technician 2nd Shift Near Warsaw, IN

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Level I: Performs a variety of quality inspection functions on materials, components and finished goods at various stages of the production process.

  • Performs and documents dimensional inspections on inventory parts using engineering prints, inspection procedures or work instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation at all times during the manufacturing and inspection process, ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Assure compliance to Alpha Manufacturing requirements for inspection and record keeping
  • May perform, as needed, nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics
  • Receive and transport manufacturing materials and raw materials to designated locations
  • Assure all raw materials received meet specifications
  • Transports work orders throughout facility as needed to support the proper flow of production
  • Maintains/ensures compliance with all company and regulatory policies and procedures
  • Communicate non conformances and work with Quality Supervisor to drive corrective actions

Counts items received or shipped and checks against packing lists, recording any discrepancies

Level II: Perform standardized measurements of parts at all manufacturing levels and measurement equipment. May specialize in particular area of quality control such as incoming material, process control, product evaluation, and final inspection. 

  • Approves 1st article, in-process and final inspections of manufactured parts by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests
  • Verify operators are accurately measuring and recording dimensions on IP sheets or other documentation
  • Perform basic calculations on test results to determine if product is within proper specifications
  • Interact with quality supervisor, production, maintenance, and other plant personnel to communicate results, receive guidance and provide feedback
  • Responsible for utilizing aptitude in measurement techniques, metrology, and blueprint reading, symbols, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Develops, modifies, applies, and maintains quality standards for processing materials; purchased material, manufactured material, and finished goods
  • Identifies product-needing re-work, verifies re-worked product conforms to specifications
  • Ensure products, parts, or supplies are shipped, distributed, or received in an efficient manner
  • Complete packaging/labeling/shipping activities for finished product
  • Responsible for the correct preparation, including assignment of correct item classification
  • Verifies documents for regulatory compliance
  • Receive raw material, out vend and purchase order receipts
  • Clean, maintain, and calibrate standard equipment under supervision and records results
  • Perform raw material and inventory cycle counting activities
  • Assists quality team members with capabilities and gauge R&R studies
  • May occasionally provide routine or basic customer assistance
  • Performs basic troubleshooting as necessary
  • Set-up and operate measurement systems with minimum direction

Set-up and operate post production equipment with minimum direction

Level III: The primary purpose of this job is to perform non-routine assignments and provide technical support with a high variety and complexity.

  • Responsible for quality inspection, quality support, and calibration / metrology services in support of production
  • Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the quality assurance program, which includes input of data, assessment capability, establishment of charts and forms, maintenance of data, development of new systems, etc.
  • Develops, designs, installs, and maintains new processes, tests, and/or control systems
  • Achieves the desired results of minimum downtime for manufacturing and process equipment, while ensuring compliance to quality systems requirements
  • Maintains and controls quality programs, fixtures, jigs, and gages including calibration, repair and coordinates the acquisition of new ones
  • Calibrates performance and documentation for in-house calibrations and coordinates customer / vendor calibrations
  • Responsible for coordinating external calibrations, with a certified outside source
  • Prepares necessary documentation and ensures paperwork compliance on all inspected items, including filing, scanning and verification of device history records
  • Processes returned product and out of specification events for further evaluation as needed to assure accuracy, verifying reject reasons and updating database
  • Performs evaluation and investigation of customer complaints and complaint product in a timely manner
  • Measure and inspect complaint product against product drawing, material, and production specifications
  • Examine the device history record and other source records as appropriate
  • Assist with Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) resolution
  • Assist in maintaining the QMS and performing internal audits
  • Assist in the training of new employees as needed
  • Acts as a lead technician in a group. In the absence of the Quality Supervisor, may participate in department and cross functional meetings as necessary
  • Uses judgement and problem-solving skills to provide input in the evolution of measurement equipment, systems and processes

Programs, operates, trains and troubleshoots quality equipment such as, but not limited to: Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), Vision System, Laser Etch machines and/or other methods.

  • Adheres to ARCH's safety and quality requirements including, but not limited to: Quality Management Systems (QMS) and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specification requirements.
  • Demonstrates the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. 
  • Ability to verbally communicate ideas and issues effectively to other team members and management.
  • Ability to write and record data and information as required by procedures. 
  • Minimum travel may be required.
