Overview:

Clement Construction is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented construction estimator to conduct cost analysis, build the scope of work documents, gather subcontractor and supplier estimates, and prepare an accurate price for construction projects. The Construction Estimator is responsible for obtaining all relevant project specifications, determining the most appropriate building materials and equipment, and securing favorable prices on all resources.

The Construction Estimator must be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures, be able to easily convert project requirements into precise figures, and adhere to financial constraints without compromising Clement Construction’ high standards for quality. In addition to possessing exceptional math, organization, and communication skills, the ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and a passion for finding opportunities.

Position Qualifications - Minimum Requirements:

· Bachelor's degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, architecture, or related field from an accredited university, or relevant work experience.

· Three years' experience as a construction estimator or in a similar position in construction estimation is desired.

· Must be able to travel throughout the Company’s service areas.

· Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.

· Excellent research and proposal and scope writing skills

· Experience with Procore software is preferred.

· Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

· Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Outstanding communication and negotiation skills

· Accurate and precise attention to detail

· Able to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions

· In-depth understanding of the construction industry, specifically within the renovation and remodeling space

· Self-motivated and self-directed

· Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office; Microsoft Project and experience with Project Management software preferred

· Organized and able to create multiple scopes and proposals

· Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations

· Able to build long-lasting relationships with team members, vendors, and customers

Principle Accountabilities:

· Collect all pertinent documents, including plans, technical drawings, and project specifications.

· Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc., to determine the project's specifications.

· Coordinate with sales, operations, and finance to ensure efficient project execution, with a focus on quality and customer experience.

· Examine all documents, meet with clients, and inspect the site to fully understand the scope and work required.

· Outline a detailed scope of work and forecast the time needed to complete each project phase.

· Determine appropriate labor, material, and equipment requirements and associated costs.

· Request and review bids from subcontractors in an organized/structured way.

· Perform risk assessments to account for potential deviations from the project plan.

· Account for the use of resources plus a reasonable profit margin to calculate an all-encompassing price.

· Draft and deliver a comprehensible proposal that communicates all requirements to the client.

· Follow competitors and trends in the industry to ensure estimates are reasonable and competitive.
