Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is Hiring a Surgery Scheduler Near Watertown, SD
- Schedule surgery, pre-op appointments, referrals, MRl's, CTs etc., with the patient and facilities.
- Prepare operative orders, referrals, etc. with all pertinent medical information and send them to the appropriate facility.
- Confirm all imaging needed for procedures are on the Prairie Lakes PACS's system.
- Coordinate with the Radiology department on receiving/sending and ordering images needed for surgery or referrals.
- Preauthorization of clinic and hospital procedures.
- Notify reps (Zimmer, DePuy, Arthex, Biomet) of upcoming procedures.
- Notify Prairie Lakes OR the main desk of upcoming Arthrex procedures.
- Notify Prairie Lakes Utilization Review Department of hospital stay status for Medicare/Medicaid patients.
- Obtain copies of all total joint replacement orders at the Prairie Lakes Hospital for the Prairie Lakes Therapy Department.
- Maintain access to insurance portals for prior authorizations.
- Schedule post-operative appointments.
- Schedule post-operative clinics when coverage is needed.
- Interact with physicians regarding preauthorization and documentation policies and requirements. Including peer-to-peer reviews.
- Attend workshops and online sessions to receive updated insurance & preauthorization information.
- Answer patient insurance authorization questions.
- Answer phones, and schedule appointments.
- Back-up for Front Desk when receptionists are out.
