Why do we need you?

The HR Manager will support and partner with the site leadership team to effectively deliver HR programs, employee engagement and business results while managing all aspects of site-level Human Resources. In this role you will focus on the development, implementation, and management of company initiatives.

Your day to day:

• Foster positive relationships to promote employee engagement and a positive workplace culture.
• Manage and oversee performance management process (annual reviews, one-on-one coaching, progressive discipline, investigations).
• Coach plant leadership through employee relations issues while ensuring consistent compliance with union contracts, policies and application of federal, state, and local labor and employment laws.
• Recruiting and Onboarding
• Staffing, Workplace Planning, and overseeing the development of employees and site leadership team.

The Watervliet, NY site has 4 unions, and you would be responsible for ensuring that the plant leadership team operates within the parameters of the contracts. Managing grievances, ensuring they are properly addressed, ultimately resolved, and participates as a key member of the negotiations team.

What do you bring?

• Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Business or an equivalent field
• 5 years of HR experience within a manufacturing environment.
• 3 years of HR Manager experience.
• Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
• PHR or SPHR certification
• Requires a high level of problem-solving, strategic thinking, results-oriented, self-driven and high engagement to meet the HR of the team.
• Experienced in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
