Job DescriptionBuilds products by assembling our products, units and subassemblies.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
- Assembles units by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
- Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Education And/or ExperienceRequires education generally equivalent to a high school diploma with shop related courses and prior production/assembly experience.
Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesGood mechanical aptitude is necessary. Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently. Must be able to read a ruler and be able to operate common hand tools, air tools, drills, sanders, grinders, etc.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to assemble units by fastening component parts, some of which have sharp metal edges. The employee is regularly required to stand, stoop or bend and occasionally reach above the shoulders.
The employee must frequently lift objects up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work EnvironmentThe position works in a production environment with moderate noise levels. Overtime is frequently required, especially during busy times.
