Primary PurposeThe ARD Facilitator is responsible for coordination, planning and preparation of compliance documents for students eligible for Special Education services. The ARD Facilitator is responsible for coordinating, planning, and facilitating staffing’s and IEP meetings.
QualificationsEducation/Certification
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • Special Education certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing special education
  • Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individual Educational Plan (IEP)
  • Knowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedure, and data
  • Ability to adjust to change in a positive manner
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience, including experience teaching disabled and other students with diverse learning needs; Experience with Frontline or other computer-based documentation system preferred.
Major Responsibilities And DutiesAssessment
  • Coordinate and facilitate ARD meeting on campuses
  • Coordinate with assessment personnel regarding special education student needs
  • Adhere to federal, state, and local special education requirements, especially in the areas of annual ARD’s and all evaluations
  • Collaborate with students, parents, and other members of staff to develop the IEP through the ARD Committee process for each student assigned
  • Process referrals to special education from the campus
  • Stay up-to-date professionally through the selection of quality staff development opportunities for personal growth
  • Research and comply with all district policy and current practices prior to taking actions
  • Participate as an effective team member who contributes to district, department and contend goals
  • Assist in developing and coordinating a continuing evaluation of the assessment program
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethics
  • Demonstrate awareness of school-community needs and initiate activities to meet those identified needs.
  • Compile, maintain and file all reports, recons and other documents as required by federal and state rules and regulations and district policy and procedures
  • Display proficient levels of technology applications
  • Utilize time wisely for effective management of job responsibilities
  • Maintain punctuality in daily work times, appointments, and meetings
  • Meet task completion deadlines established supervisor
  • Maintain friendly, customer-driven interactions with all stakeholders, students, teacher, administrators, and co-workers
  • Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that the goals of the school/department are met
  • Maintain a positive and professional tone in all communication (i.e email, written, verbal)
  • Perform other duties and accept other responsibilities as assigned

  • Mental Demands:Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
  • May be required to lift and transfer students to and from wheelchair or assist with positioning students with physical disabilities
