Position Title: Guest Room Attendant / Housekeeper
Accountable To: General Manager
FLSA: Nonexempt Essential Functions of Position
High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
Hospitality experience desired, but not necessary.
Must be able to work as part of a team, but independently. Be self-motivated and use time wisely. Be professional, responsible and mature in conduct and behavior at all times. Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the company including, but not limited to those contained in the associate handbook.
Job duties are as follows:
Clean and reset guest bedroom and bathroom areas according to established standards and Policies set forth by Red Roof Inn and Phantom LLC.
* Obtain and complete “room assignment sheet”.
* Stripping of soiled bed linens.
* Bed-Making.
* Vacuuming and Mopping Floors.
* Dusting all furniture and fixtures.
* Scrubbing Walls and Ceilings, Door frames and entry thresholds.
* Cleaning Mirrors, Windows, Toilet, Vents, Vanity, Bathtub and Shower Curtains.
* Cleaning Guest Room Furniture, Refrigerator, Microwave, Coffee Maker and Phones.
*Deep Cleaning.
* Restocking Supplies and Towels.
* Clean Hallways and Common areas as assigned.
* Removal of trash and replacing trash bags in all public area trashcans.
* Use of chemicals, cleaners and cleaning equipment properly according to MSDS guidelines.
* Stock and maintain housekeeping cart, linen storage room.
* Document maintenance issues.
* Promptly respond to and resolve guest complaints.
* Assist other housekeeping associates clean and maintain public areas.
* Maintain open line of communications with each department.
* Properly handle and account for keys.
* Ensure protection of guests’ room numbers and policies regarding guest room access.
* Understanding and implementing emergency procedures when necessary.
* Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety, security rules and procedures.
* Be knowledgeable about bloodborne pathogen procedures.
* Properly document and store “lost and found” items.
* Counting of monthly inventory.
* Be available to help other departments in emergency situations.
* Perform other duties as requested, from time to time as directed by Management.
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
* Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
* Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
* Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements
* Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
* Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space.
* Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis.
* Must be able to lift up to 50bs on a regular and continuing basis.
* Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
* Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning/inspection tasks.
* Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
* Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
Other Job Requirements
* Attendance is critical in this position.
* All associates must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance per Company Standards.
* Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings are required.
