R L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Senior Staff Accountant at our Wilmington, OH Service Center. The Accountant is primarily responsible for preparing various asset, liability, revenue, and expense reconciliations, posting other activities to the general ledger and account analysis. The Accountant is also responsible for completing other tasks assigned to support the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department. The Senior Staff Accountant will provide general accounting support across the spectrum of accounting functions as directed with the aim of ensuring accounting activities and associated financial information is timely, accurate and readily available to support key business decisions. 

Job duties:

• Prepare journal entries, monitor and analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy
• Reconcile various asset, liability, revenue and expense accounts
• Assist with month end close procedures and, reports
• Preparation of information and reports requested for annual audit
• Track fixed assets for specific companies
• Special projects as assigned by Management
• Maintain work instructions and procedures for all tasks
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities
• Complete other duties as assigned
• Provide and participate in cross-training as needed

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• 3-5 years of experience, with specific exposure to general ledger maintenance
• Must have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
• Exposure to fixed assets (a plus)
• Professional level experience with Excel to compile and present data
• Experience with Oracle software (preferred)

• Must be a dedicated team player with the willingness and desire to learn and grow within the organization
• Must be a highly self-motivated individual with the ability to function in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision and direction
