JOB TITLE: Mining Engineer (Mineral Processing)

REPORTS TO: General Manager

DEPARTMENT: VA Preparation (MSS)

JOB SUMMARY: Perform plant process control functions which will result in optimizing yields and maximizing efficiencies by maintaining effective Quality Control and Maintenance Programs for Coal Handling and Preparation.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and assist with the selection of process chemicals, certain plant equipment and replacement parts by monitoring performance and cost effectiveness.
• Assist with the overall operation of the plant to align with plant process efficiency standards and maintain high plant availability. Schedule and assist with plant process and circuit sampling for measuring plant efficiencies and optimizing plant performance.
• Plan, schedule, and maintain database for all plant maintenance.
• Identify continuous improvement and upgrade projects; take the lead with the evaluation of such projects and prepare scope of work and expected benefit analysis for management review. Follow through with a bid package, compilation and evaluation of bids, and work with plant management and sourcing to select the successful bid. Assist with project management.
• Be familiar with all plant reports and assist with revisions, as well as, helping to complete reports when needed.
• Be familiar with the plant refuse disposal plans and work closely with MSS Engineering to assist with proper placement of the refuse and maintaining compliance with the approved disposal plans.
• Be familiar with and have a working knowledge of the plant process control systems and assist with troubleshooting and upgrade of the PLC components.
• Assist with the planning, development and execution of operating and capital budgets.
• Conduct all work activities in compliance with Federal and State laws and Company policies, procedures, rules and regulations.

Position Prerequisites/Preferences/Certifications/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mining, Mechanical, Electrical or related discipline) required
• Proficient in AutoCAD & Carlson Survcad preferred
• Microsoft Office suite skills preferred
• Good communication and writing skills
