SST Direct is Hiring a Project Manager (Underground Utilities) Near York, NE

Seeking a Project Manager or Superintendent with underground utility construction experience for a direct hire opportunity with our client, an employee owned heavy construction and site development general contractor in Nebraska.
This position offers full benefits including an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, PTO, Medical, Dental and 401k!
Salary is between $75,000 - $100,000 per year (based on experience)
This role involves analyzing project specifications, creating accurate estimates and proposals, managing subcontractor relationships, tracking project budgets and schedules, ensuring compliance with contracts, and coordinating various aspects of construction projects from pre-construction to completion.
Qualifications:
  • 5 years construction management experience.
  • Experience with and basic knowledge of underground utility construction, including mechanical joint fittings, HDPE pipe and fittings, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewer systems, and various pipe types and fittings like RCP, HDPE, and CM
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving proficiency.
  • Capable of both independent work and teamwork.
  • Attentive to detail with a focus on precision.
  • Clear and efficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Committed to accuracy and precision.
  • Proficiency in software like Heavy Bid, Excel, and Word preferred.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards, particularly OSHA 10 and 30, and basic underground utility protocols preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Analyze drawings and specifications to create accurate estimates and proposals, including sourcing pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Understand and apply contractual terms and conditions.
  • Provide detailed quantity take-offs.
  • Organize subcontractor quotations, negotiate to align with contract requirements, and issue documented purchase orders.
  • Develop and monitor project budgets and schedules, identifying risks and managing change orders.
  • Foster relationships with subcontractors and clients.
  • Review and manage contract documents, collaborating with office personnel as needed.
  • Collect and submit shop drawings for approval, ensuring compliance with engineer revisions.
  • Assist in material procurement and ensure timely delivery to the jobsite.
  • Track and account for stored materials in pay estimates submitted to the engineer.
  • Attend pre-construction and progress meetings, as well as internal meetings with colleagues.
  • Coordinate locates before project commencement and discontinue them upon completion.
  • Gather monthly usage information from site supervisors for pay estimate submissions.
  • Ensure site personnel receive necessary project documentation.
  • Address concerns of field personnel, office staff, and colleagues.
  • Maintain material and labor cost databases and unit pricing.
  • Formulate cost breakdowns for estimates and project progress.
  • Conduct client meetings to discuss service options.
