Our client, an alternative investment manager that specializes in quantitative investing, is looking to hire a full-time Infrastructure Support Engineer to work onsite out of their Boca Raton location while also supporting the infrastructure globally.
The firm has grown significantly over the last 5 years, and as the growth continues on that trajectory, the technology must scale to facilitate that. They are now at another exciting inflexion point as the business scales out horizontally into other asset classes, which brings new challenges for their technology platform and the Infrastructure team. Automation will be a key part of that strategy and will allow them to rapidly deliver to the business to overcome some of those challenges.
Requirements:
- 3 years' end-user support experience in a primarily Windows environment
- Strong ability to independently troubleshoot end-user issues, ranging from Windows desktop support to VoIP problems
- Responsible for dealing with remote support queries from over 120 staff spread across multiple offices both domestically and internationally (to ensure the end-user infrastructure that supports their business is maintained and monitored effectively
- Good experience across the Windows stack (i.e. AD, GPOs, DFS, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
- Security first mindset, ensuring security standards are maintained across the estate and not afraid
to challenge the norm
- Good understanding of networking technologies, switches, firewalls, VPNs
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide end-user support to the Florida office, being the sole point of contact for all technology
issues
- Assist with the management of the global Windows and Office 365 estate.
- Build new workstations and laptops using our automated pipeline.
- Maintaining global standards, recommending areas for improvement, and suggesting solutions.
Nice To Haves, But By No Means Required:
- Good understanding of PowerShell (the use of automation will come in handy here so any experience with it would be a plus! This position will give you the opportunity to gain more responsibility in areas like PowerShell and work even more closely with the wider Infrastructure team on core infra projects)
- Experience using VMware ESX.
- Experience using configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible
- Experience using Terraform
- Experience using Mimecast email security
