The Operations Service Manager reports directly to the VP of Service Operations & General Counsel and is primarily responsible for management of day-to-day functions within New Jersey geography of Total Fire Protection, with a specific focus and concentration on coordinating functions and duties, as detailed below, in support of the Company’s Operations Service department.

Below are specific responsibilities per corresponding function, that this position is directly responsible for:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Operations Service Manager will be responsible for coordinating and following-up on all issued service proposals to ensure expedient and efficient execution of services. This is further described below:

  • Understand Total Fire Protection’s strategy, business, and growth initiatives.
  • Oversee Field Service Technicians who perform testing, inspection, repair, and installation of fire protection equipment.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, developing, and evaluating of the Field Service Team to ensure Total Fire Protection Customers receive the highest level of service in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Learning fire codes, both nationally and local, and products that support fire protection services, consistent with the Company’s line of services.
  • Drive a Company-owned vehicle to and from Customer sites and assisting the Field Service Team with servicing of Customer accounts.
  • Overseeing several key service department areas including, but not limited to, maintaining excellent Customer relationships, increasing internal sales, maintaining an efficient route structure, and ensuring driver compliance.
  • Ensure that all Field Service Technicians obtain required licensing and certifications to perform the required services offered by Total Fire Protection.
  • Administrative duties including, but not limited to, overseeing and execution of performance metrics of the Field Service Team.
  • Other responsibilities and tasks, as assigned.
  • Ensure proper and first-class Customer service is consistently provided to our customers and manage the process in ensuring said service is provided to the Company’s expectations.
  • Uphold all relevant policies and procedures consistent with representing the Company throughout the industry, with a specific focus on ensuring the Company brand/image is consistently represented in a first-class manner

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Five (5) years of related work experience and Bachelor’s degree preferable
  • The ability to detect individual customer needs and clearly present key benefits of doing business with Total Fire Protection
  • Strong planning, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proven coaching and mentoring experience in the service industry.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, virtual and dynamic environment.
  • Strong conceptual thinking abilities
  • Ability to function independently in a team environment with little supervision.
  • Can work in a collaborative environment while also working independently.
  • Must be detail oriented, conscientious and have a strong work ethic.
  • Self-motivation, strong work ethic and career oriented.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office application (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
  • Excellent editing, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
