Muñoz Engineering and Land Surveying, DPC is a multi-discipline engineering, design, land surveying and construction inspection firm with four decades of experience serving New York and New Jersey. Muñoz Engineering is certified with all local public agencies and is licensed to practice engineering and land surveying services. We have extensive experience working with clients in the public and private sector on all types of projects including engineering design, surveying, and construction inspection.

We are seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer (A-III) to fill a position with the New York City Department of Design and Construction. Work will take place in Brooklyn.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between consultants, external agencies, contractors, property owners and other utility services for assigned projects.
• Supervise office staff for all administrative works that include processing and reviewing of progress payments for contractors.
• Coordinate, review and process project submittals and ensure record keeping forms are maintained as per standards.
• Administer contractor’s work and ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Inspect work sites, monitor project budget and schedule and check project plans and drawings for constructability.
• Manage and submit all reviewed contract documents and records for further approval.
• Perform inspections, supervise, and provide guidance to Project Field Inspectors.
• Ensure all contract works in compliance with contract documents.
• Conduct field meetings and progress meetings, monthly reports on progress of assigned project with assistance of schedules, costs spreadsheets and perform analysis on same.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering from an accredited college.

Experience:

• Five years of experience in construction inspection or management on infrastructure construction projects including pedestrian ramps, Thorough knowledge and experience in the construction of ADA compatible pedestrian ramps in New York City.
• Familiar with the New York City specifications and standard drawings for pedestrian ramp construction.
• Experience in analyzing field conditions to provide direction to the contractor on a case-by-case basis.

Rate: $65 to $75 per hour
