A prestigious and well-established legal firm is seeking a dedicated Litigation Attorney to join their team in Burlingame, CA! They are looking for someone with 2-5 years of experience with a passion for litigation and a desire to work on high-profile, public interest cases to take the lead on trial cases as the first chair, manage dispositions, participate in mediation and conduct discovery while collaborating with a team of other legal professionals. Salary Range: $140,000 - $150,000 / year DOE
Litigation Attorney Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of litigation experience
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited university
  • Must have experience taking depositions, court appearances and writing motions
  • Strong writing skills
  • First chair experience is preferred
  • Must be barred in California
  • Driven and dedicated professional attitude
Litigation Attorney Responsibilities:
  • Handle a caseload of 10-15 cases, primarily public interest cases
  • Manage cases from inception through trial, including all phases of litigation
  • Serve as the first chair in trials, leading and executing trial strategies
  • Conduct depositions, prepare clients and witnesses, and handle deposition-related motions
  • Participate in mediations and negotiations to resolve cases
  • Manage the discovery process, including drafting and responding to discovery requests, and handling electronic discovery issues
  • Perform legal research using tools like Lexus Nexus and West Law
  • Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including motions, briefs, and pleadings
  • Represent clients in court, handle hearings, and make oral arguments
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and legal advice throughout the case
  • Work closely with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff within the firm
  • Contribute to a team-oriented environment with a strong focus on collaboration
