Independence Property Management is Hiring a Property Manager Near Centerville, OH

Welcome to our team!

Hello! As part of a growing real estate family, our company manages more than 600 residential units from northern Dayton to Cincinnati. Our mission is to provide quality service to both our investors and owners, as well as to our tenants who rely on us. We are searching for a Property Manager to help with administering and assisting a great PM team.

Your Role:

As a Property Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all levels of management for our portfolio, making sure that they are performing well to ensure the experience of our residents remains exceptional.

Many of the responsibilities listed below will be taken care of by our team, but you will need to know how to perform them to be able to manage and assist when needed.

Common Responsibilities:

  1. Leasing units (single family as well as duplexes and above) in the Dayton, Middletown, Hamilton, and Cincinnati areas.
  2. Creating rapport with tenants and helping them feel at home by maintaining strong lines of communication and keeping the relationship professional, but empathetic.
  3. Ensuring timely rent collections and handling conversations about it with maturity, empathy, and professionalism. 
  4. Coordinating with both our in-house maintenance team and external vendors to complete any needed repairs, including unit turnovers during vacancy.
  5. Keeping meticulous records and working with the Asset Management Team.
  6. Handling emergencies! Though we prefer to stick to a stable workday, property management sometimes comes with sudden emergencies that require attention outside of normal working hours.
  7. Assisting fellow team members when needed, such as when a person with a timely task falls sick.
  8. Keeping a consistent budget and working with the team in maintaining finances for the properties in the portfolio.

Your Specialties and Qualifications:

  1. 5 years (or more) experience in property management, real estate, or similar role.
  2. A good understanding of local, state, and federal property regulations and housing laws.
  3. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  4. Strong interpersonal and management abilities.
  5. A passion for Real Estate and desire to excel. 
  6. Proficiency with using property management software (AppFolio preferred) and google workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, etc.)
  7. A knack for multitasking and prioritizing in a lively environment
  8. A valid real estate license is a big plus, but not a must.
  9. This is not an entry level role.
