Infection Control Nurse Responsibilities:

  • As an infection control nurse, you will be responsible for the prevention of healthcare associated infections for your facility.
  • You will monitor and guide the nursing staff in infection prevention methods.
  • You will apply the principles of infection prevention to the development of educational and training programs.
  • You will train and test the nursing staff.
  • You will participate in the development and implementation of an individualized patient care plan for the resident with allied health team members.

Requirements

Infection Control Nurse Qualifications:

  • Infection prevention experience.
  • Nursing management experience.
  • A valid and current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
  • Requires employee to have had no abuse records.
  • One year experience as a wound care nurse and/or infection prevention, preferred.
