Primary PurposeFacilitate the efficient operation of the Child Nutrition Services office with assistance to Child
Nutrition office and Child Nutrition campus staff. Provides support to the department with
specific responsibility for fiscal services and student meal eligibility.
QualificationsEducation/Certification:High School diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Proficient skills in typing, grammar, word processing, file maintenance and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices
- Self-motivated, very organized and detail oriented
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Be able to interpret, assign, and review budget codes.
- Able to handle multiple tasks and priorities with frequent interruptions.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering a large quantity of financial transactions.
- Knowledge of purchasing policies and procedures directed by the Texas Department of Agriculture
Essential Job Functions
- Serve as the determining official for free and reduced-price lunch applications and perform data entry of free and reduced meal application benefits within the Child Nutrition Services computer data program.
- Receive and upload monthly Direct Certification from TX-Elms for meal eligibility.
- Responsible for timely communication of Child Nutrition Eligibility benefits with families.
- Assist in preparation and proof-reading of Free and Reduced Meal Program application form and handouts.
- Responsible for the maintenance of student meal accounts, including refunds and deposits made in the Child Nutrition office.
- Assist with the verification process each fall of free and reduced-price meal applications.
- Receive, sort and process Child Nutrition invoices for payment through the CSISD Business Office.
- Process payroll for all Child Nutrition staff according to CSISD Business Office schedule.
- Reconcile monthly My School Bucks online transactions.
- Provide clerical assistance to all Child Nutrition office and campus staff.
- Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff, while exercising excellent telephone etiquette.
- Create monthly accounts computation and expense transfers for all Child Nutrition catering.
- Record all Child Nutrition Services staff absences in Time Clock Plus.
- Reconcile and replenish petty cash.
- Deposit money collected by the Child Nutrition office with appropriate budget codes.
- Submit work orders for campus needs.
- Make travel arrangements for Child Nutrition staff.
- Responsible for registering Child Nutrition staff for workshops.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Child Nutrition Services.
- Maintain professional interactions with staff, parents, community and visitors and promotes image of self and department.

- Report to work in a timely manner according to assigned schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the director or other administrator that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
