Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas is Hiring a Major Gifts Officer Near Dallas, TX
Essential Functions
- Cultivate, solicit, steward, and manage a portfolio of 150-200 major gift prospects including alumni, parents, parents of grads, and others in the Jesuit community.
- Directly solicit gifts, working with advancement staff, administration, faculty, and volunteers to implement successful solicitation strategies for major gifts, annual appeals, and event sponsorships.
- Collaborate with members of the advancement staff during fundraising/community events, gift recognition, reporting, etc., and all activities that support the operational needs of the Advancement Office.
- Bachelor's degree required with three or more years experience in a fundraising or sales environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven success building and maintaining trusted relationships with key stakeholders and the ability to interact with multiple constituencies.
- Ability to communicate the philosophy and mission of the School as part of the cultivation process.
- Demonstrated accomplishment in the acquisition of donor gifts and the ability to strategize, formulate, and close gifts.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in an exciting, fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge preferred.
- Minimal travel and occasional night and weekend work may be required.
- Works in a highly stressful environment dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
- May alternatively work at a desk and computer for extended periods of time while also spending a lot of hours walking and/or standing.
- Occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
