Green Valley Manufacturing of Illinois, Inc is Hiring a Machinist Near Decatur, IL
- Understand setup and machining parts in position on machines, indexing, milling, boring parts to proper dimensional requirements in drawings.
- Machine by instructions, blue prints, and work orders for the job, plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
- Be able to machine with minimal error and hold machining tolerances within .001”
- Takes accurate measurements, be able to sharpen tools efficiently; and adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes.
- Accurately and efficiently process steel and other materials for use in fabrication
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
- Work involves varying degrees of precision and control where damage could be considerable.
- Attention and care required to prevent injury to others while performing job duties
- Working knowledge of shop tools, manual machinery, and operating a forklift and overhead crane
- Work involves considerable stooping, bending, and working in overhead structures.
- General shop exposure requires PPE such as safety glasses and steel toed boots
- CNC machining or similar experience is helpful however not required
- Ambition / Autonomy: Self-motivated to achieve personal advancement with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Detail Oriented While Working Under Pressure: Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task while being under stressful situations.
- Adaptability: Ability to quickly recover from, and/or adjust to change and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
- Safety: Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to OSHA and company guidelines. Wearing all required PPE when required
- 1-3 year’s manufacturing shop experience
- Pass written blue print test
- High School Graduate or GED completion
