Mission
Denver Food Rescue’s (DFR) mission is to increase health equity with Denver neighborhoods. DFR
achieves this by resourcing fresh produce and delivering it to community-organized No Cost Grocery
Programs (NCGPs). DFR works alongside grassroots leadership to support food security, food
sovereignty, and social justice in the Denver Metro area. DFR believes that health is a right that should be
enjoyed by everyone, and that a person’s health should not be determined by their race, income, or
geography.
Position Description
The Food Access Coordinator position is a full-time role reporting to the Program Director. This person
will play a critical role in managing the food access operations of DFR; is responsible for directing and
managing DFR’s food recovery efforts; works in collaboration with the Development Manager to produce
and share food related content via social media and print; collaborates with the Program Director to
manage DFR’s Fresh Food Connect Chapter. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated, and

Responsibilities
Food Rescue & Donor Acquisition (approximately 60%/ ~24 hrs per week)
● Primarily need to be available and working M-F, 8-4 with some weekends to visit weekend-only
donors (i.e., farmers’ markets)
● Visit with food donors and NCGP’s to foster and strengthen partnerships, ensure quality, and
relevance of food being offered
● Train staff, NCGP’s, and volunteers on safe food handling
● Execute annual food donor appreciations (gift package and letter)
● In partnership with the Program Director, plan, implement, evaluate and food sourcing operations
● Attend and participate in Food Rescue Alliance bi-weekly and monthly workshops
● Identify and cultivate new food distributors, wholesalers, and growers
● Accept or decline donation offers in a timely manner
● Responsible for the DFR food donation database, insuring tracking, analyzing and reporting on
selected metrics; i.e., pounds, donations by category, current, lapsed, prospective donors is
completed in timely manner
● Coordinate the collection, analysis, and reporting of data and ensures timely and accurate
reporting to funders, auditors, and other relevant stakeholders (e.g. Quarterly Progress Report,
board report, receipt)
Fresh Food Connect Program Facilitation (approx. 30% of role / ~12 hrs per week)
● Attend Fresh Food Connect meetings.
● Fresh Food Connect gardener acquisition & communication /education in collaboration
with PD & Fresh Food Connect
○ This includes monthly newsletter and donor acknowledgement
● Oversee Fresh Food Connect youth seasonal employees, this includes supporting,
training, and coaching them on their daily shifts
● Post monthly Fresh Food Connect gardner newsletter
Food Content Creator (approximately 10% of role/ ~6 hrs per week)
● Conceive, research and write original content, and short form articles on cooking basics, recipes,
etc (plus occasional website copy)
● Coordinate photo and video shoots; sourcing ingredients from rescued food, props and styling
with the Development Manager
● Site visits to NCGP locations and donor site to collect photos and video content
Additional responsibilities as needed including
● Support additional daily business operations and workflows as needed
● Assist the program team on food pickups and deliveries as needed
● Assist the Development team in executing donor acknowledgements and with fundraising and
events as needed
Qualifications
● Strong commitment to DFR’s mission and values.
● Experience with Excel/Sheets, and Google Workspace.
● High levels of collaboration, integrity, compassion, and joy.
● Excellent verbal and written communication.
● Experience with administration and office management.
● Flexible and adaptive work style with the ability to thrive in a growing, dynamic, mission driven
environment.
● Experience with or knowledge of social service/hunger issues is a plus.
● Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.
● ServSafe manager certification, or ability to obtain certification within 30 days of employment.
● Ability to lift up to 25 lbs at one time and use either an electric bike, personal car, or
work-provided van to move food preferred
Work Environment
This position will operate primarily in-person and occasional opportunities to work remotely through
Google Workspace. This position will primarily operate Monday-Friday 8am-4pm, 40 hours per week
commitment required. This position requires you to work in a variety of community-based settings with
individuals from various races, backgrounds, cultures, political and religious views. Your work schedule
may vary beyond “normal” office hours, including evening and weekends. This position is required to be
Colorado-based. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to move up to 25
lbs at a time.

Compensation: $26.50 per hour ($55,000 annual)
