Position Summary:

To provide quality customer service and assistance to members, clients and customers coming into the facility through various entry ways. To maintain the cleanliness of the East County Red Shield.

Essential Functions:

- Provide great customer service to the community; see that all customers, clients and members are given prompt and courteous service.

- Assist with event set-ups & activities and ensure general venue safety. Communicate facility issues to the appropriate person(s).

- Adhere to Red Shield Center operations as well as all policy procedures as adopted by Administration.

- Maintain a clean work environment.

- Observe all safety rules and regulations.

- Attend staff meetings as assigned.

- Maintain confidentiality.

- Daily empty and replace garbage cans and liners.

- Sweep and Mop facility floors.

- Spot clean kitchens following usage.

- Remove garbage and debris from parking lot and flowerbeds.

- Clean and sanitize restrooms.

- Wash fleet vehicles as needed.

Working Conditions:

Ability to walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead. Ability to operate computer, fax and telephone. Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Previous janitorial experience preferred but not required.

* Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, and supervisors.

* Ability to learn, understand, and follow proper chemical handling guidelines.

* Maintain a professional attitude and approach to problem solving.

* Must be able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

* Basic plumbing skills preferred but not required.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

- Driving Test and clean MVR check (if applicable).

- If working in vicinity of children a criminal background check is required with certification for Protect the Mission policies and procedures.

- High school diploma or diploma in progress.

- Thrive in a team-oriented environment.

- Be a team player.

- Must have the ability to maintain a non-judgmental attitude in working with customers, clients, members, and staff.
