Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced Authorization Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance verification, medical terminology, and medical coding. As an Authorization Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all necessary authorizations for medical procedures are obtained promptly and accurately.
Duties:- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical procedures- Communicate with insurance companies, healthcare providers, and patients to gather required information- Maintain accurate records of authorizations and follow-up as needed- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and other relevant guidelines- Collaborate with the medical billing team to resolve any authorization-related issues
Skills:- Proficiency in insurance verification processes- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10, and ICD-9 coding- Experience working in a medical or dental office setting- Familiarity with managed care plans and insurance policies- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality- Excellent communication and organizational skills
