Career Readiness Learning Objectives
Career & Self Development: The position provides opportunities for an OTD graduate student to heighten their knowledge and skill set by assuming duties that will help one progress professionally. The recipient of this position will seek and embrace opportunities to assist students from Cohort 1 learn and master academic material and/or skills needed to be successful in both the classroom and/or associated labs. Building and maintaining relationships through daily communications and hands-on support along with seeking and developing learning opportunities are beneficial for professional and personal development.
Communication: This position's requirements include clearly, effectively, and professionally communicating with both students and faculty on the Ruskin campus, both in person and through the various communication media used in the position.
Critical Thinking: The position will make decisions and solve problems associated with mastering academic material using sound, inclusive reasoning and judgement. Gathering and analyzing information from a diverse set of sources and individuals will be necessary.
Professionalism: The position will maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with faculty and other students and will require demonstration of dependability and the ability to prioritize and complete tasks, as well as the ability to attend to details and to show a high level of dedication toward doing a good job and facilitating other students' success.
Equity and Inclusion: The position will require keeping an open mind to diverse ideas and new ways of thinking; to identify resources and eliminate barriers resulting from individual and systemic racism, inequities and biases that may adversely impact student success in the classroom.
Technology This position requires the use of technology to improve efficiency and productivity and to complete specific tasks, such as developing resources for helping other students master material covered in class.
This position requires a student who has a thorough understanding of the course concepts and the ability to translate that knowledge to others in the areas of neuroscience and human movement analysis. The individual will act as a student liaison to the following courses: DOCCT 825 and DOCCT 821. Duties of this position include but are not limited to, providing assistance with tutoring students and working closely with projects and paper assignments for the respective courses. The student may also be asked to assist with the creation and grading of quizzes.
This position requires an individual that will work closely with all faculty members in preparing and maintaining the lab areas. Responsibilities include keeping and maintaining inventory, set up and break down of the labs and assisting students in review for lab practicals. This position requires someone who is highly organized and is able to manage several jobs at one time with attention to detail. As a student representative of Gannon University and the OTD program, the utmost professionalism is expected.
Although this is a comprehensive list of responsibilities the student in this position may be asked to assist with other projects as needed.
Required Qualifications

The preferred candidate will meet the following minimum qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled as a second-year student in the OTD program in Ruskin, FL. and in good academic standing.
- Cumulative GPA through Fall 2023 of 3.8 or higher
- Excellent communication skills with peers and faculty
- Organized
- Attention to detail
