Azimuth Energy is Hiring a Project Engineer Near Fenton, MO

1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION

Azimuth Energy is seeking an energetic and organized individual to join us as a Project Engineer (PE).

The PE is a full-time position that will work closely with other Operations and Sales staff and be expected to participate in as many as 5-6 projects at the same time in different stages of their project cycles and in different locales. During a typical day, the PE may work on multiple projects in different project phases. The ability to adapt and change focus quickly and often is essential. Project Engineers are responsible for the design, engineering analysis, and equipment procurement of each project.

All work is done in the PC/Windows operating system.

2.0 AZIMUTH OVERVIEW

Azimuth Energy delivers solar-energy solutions for utilities, businesses, and developers that improve financial performance and advance climate sustainability. We are an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management firm specializing in photovoltaic systems for commercial rooftops and carports, utility-scale ground mounts, battery storage systems, microgrids, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The projects are fast-paced, exciting, and rewarding with responsibility for interacting with our wide range of clients and different project types throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean. 

We earn and keep our customers for repeat projects through excellent customer service and high-quality project delivery. Our delivery structure is flexible and can adapt to suit the project team and client needs, including traditional At-Risk General Contracting, Construction Management, Owner’s Engineer-of-Record / Owner’s Agent, or Independent Engineer. 

3.0 PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

AutoCAD design drawing development 25%

Equipment procurement 5%

Design drawing peer review 10%

Commissioning reports 5%

Engineering analysis & calculations 10%

Owner's Manual documentation 5%

Energy modeling 10%

Inspections 10%

Subconsultant management 10%

Project documentation 5%

Equipment research 5%

4.0 TRAVEL

Some travel is required and should be expected for local projects (weekly), national projects (monthly), and international projects (annually). PE should have a valid passport or have no restrictions on applying for a passport.

5.0 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

We support our staff in their professional development and believe that personal advancement and enrichment are important for a healthy company organization. Based on each employee’s professional advancement plans, we will support and reimburse expenses for approved training and education. This includes Solar Energy International courses, construction management coursework, OSHA, NABCEP and PE certification. We practice our Company Culture.

6.0 QUALIFICATIONS

6.1 ESSENTIAL

A. Proficiency with AutoCAD

B. Familiarity with reading construction drawings and electrical schematics

C. Understanding of energy, power, solar, and battery storage systems

D. Excellent organizational skills

E. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

F. Attention to detail, pride in your work and performance

G. Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite, particularly Excel and Word

H. Interpersonal skills and eagerness to work closely in a diverse team environment

I. Passion to learn new things through self-study and structured settings

6.2 PREFERRED

A. Licensed Engineer-In-Training

B. NABCEP certified in PV Installation

C. Familiarity with NFPA National Electrical Code

D. OSHA-10 certified

7.0 EDUCATION

7.1 Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, or documented 10 years’ industry engineering experience.

7.2 Continuing education in solar technologies and energy-related topics.

8.0 PARTICULARS

8.1 Basis of employment: Full-Time Employee, 40 hours per week

8.2 Azimuth will furnish a Windows PC laptop computer. The candidate is responsible for furnishing their own:

A. Cell phone.

B. Personal transportation: if an owned automobile, must have a minimum insurance of $100,000 in liability coverage in addition to statutory requirements.

8.3 The office will be in St. Louis, MO. The candidate can be located remotely provided they have the experience and ability to work effectively from a remote location. Periodic and regular visits to the home office for several days at a time will be required.

9.0 COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

9.1 Typical Salary: $65k - $75k

9.2 Health insurance

A. The company pays 100% of the employee’s health insurance, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance. 

B. Dental, vision, and family member insurance may be added at the employee’s cost.

9.3 401(k) retirement plan.

A. Azimuth contributes an amount equal to 3% of each employee’s salary into their 401(k) account.

9.4 Discretionary bonuses.

9.5 Unlimited Personal Time Off.

9.6 10 company paid holidays.
