Job SummaryGateway is currently seeking Adjunct Instructors for English 101 and English 102 courses for the Fall 2024 semester.
Teach ENG 101 Writing I or ENG 102 Writing II at the Boone campus, 8:00-9:15am, 11:00-12:15pm or 5:00-6:15pm.
Courses meet Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday.
Job Duties
- Provide instruction and familiarize students within the specific areas of study.
- Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice in their respective field(s).
- Maintenance and care of classrooms, labs & training materials will also be expected.
- Keep abreast of changes in their field and help keep the programs updated.
- Technical positions provide students with the background, knowledge, and basic skills needed to function effectively on the job.
- Preferred candidates would be able to teach at various levels to help support their programs. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, and have an in-depth understanding of the principles in their discipline or field.
- Master’s degree and at least 18 graduate hours in English
- Passion to provide the highest quality educational environment for all our students.

- Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations.
- Excellent organizational skills; high attention to detail; independent; self-motivated; able to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.

- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and, in writing.
- Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
- Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience in and understanding of the importance of working with students from diverse populations.
- Experience working at the community college level.
